I’m wondering what the difference is between the L298N, IBT and MD13S.
To answer my own question, here are some basic comparisons.
L298N ($2.42 CDN)
- Input voltage : 7.5V-46V
- Current : 2A (3-4A short peak)
- Input level : 5V
- Max Freq : 40KHz
- Notes : Considered “old” but cheap, allows individual control of each channel (4 ch)
IBT-2 ($9 CDN)
- Input voltage : 6V-27V
- Maximum Current : 43A
- Input level : 3.3V-5V
- Max Freq : 25KHz
- Notes :
IBT-4 ($14.23 CDN)
- Input voltage : 5V-15V
- Maximum Current : 50A
- Input level : 3.3V-12V
- Max Freq : 200KHz
- Notes :
MD13S ($16.40 CDN)
- Input voltage : 6V-30V
- Current : 13A (30A for 10s)
- Input level : 3.3V-5V
- Max Freq : 20KHz
- Notes : Simple control IO, very efficient (no heatsink needed for 13A @ 25 deg C)
If anyone wants to add to this, let me know the details and I can edit this post.
