Differences between V4.5 and V5

I haven’t been around the forums for a couple years now. It’s incredibly overwhelming for my old uneducated post stroke brain to comprehend anymore. What are the key differences between the V4.5 and the V 5 PCB’s? I had one of the two almost operational before I lost my place and never looked back to my own detriment. Cheers.

There are no v5 boards, maybe you have mixed AIO (boards) with AOG (software) versions. Latest boards are v4.x and latest software is v6.7.x

I still have aio v2.4 ruinning with latest v6.x.x software, no problems at all.

That must be what I have here then. I apologize for my confusion. I have two. One nearly completely populated and this one is bare. obviously.

Yes this is v2.4 and theres nothing wrong with that version. I just can’t remeber if it was possible to feed 24v from ampseal pin, instead of on board screw terminals, like newer boards. But else is all right.

If no you could unsolder pin 3 (WAS_L) from pcb and extend the wire to screw terminal. Grounds are already at same potential.

I remember something about that I think. After looking at my populated board it appears as though there is the need to solder a connection from the cytron to the header it plugged in to because of a weak trace maybe?

If you use 12v motor it could possibly draw larger amount of current than 24v in that case yes.

I have the Phidgets 24 volt motors. Thanks bud. My brain doesn’t wrap around this stuff entirely yet. Like my builds, I’m a work in progress. Thanks for setting me straight. Cheers.

If I remember right, there were people who interrupted the connection from the ampseal plug to the main board and made jumpers that soldered directly to the cytron, Right?

Here are all the problems and fixes for that version, including traces: AIO v2.x issues and fixes | AgOpenGPS Documentation
