We are a small grounds maintenance company, just me and Dad, wanting to improve our efficiency. It started out wanting to just make our tractor auto steer for all of our mowing operations. I then started thinking that maybe we could add GPs to the buggy we use to over mark the line and adapt the agopen software to map football/rugby and athletics pitches and tracks.
After much deliberation I decided that was beyond my grasp but believe that we can still use the software and scroll through AB lines as we go.
So currently we have our tractor up and running with a 4.5 micro board and the golf buggy had got a motor and gears adapted (due to an awkward steering wheel) from potato farmers gears.
So far so good, however on returning to the lines we are about 30-40mm out. Would I be right in thinking that this is likely caused by the base station being too far away? I am yet to build my own and am running from one about 30 miles away, which I know is too far so am hoping to improve this with my own station.
Any thoughts on how we could improve welcome and appreciated.
