Tree Planning

Currently the trees do not load from the kml. They only save to the kml. This can be added, but it does not do this now. Best way to move a tree, is to add the tree where you want it and delete the old tree. I will try to add a load trees from kml file button.

Thank you,
I’ll do it this way.

i think it might be useful in the future to know the exact number of trees to buy.
meanwhile I’m looking for a way to move the trees on the borders (obstacles, lakes, ditches …) with autocad map 3d.

Second question:
Do you think there is a way to align the trees on the border to the trees on the other lines?
I thought of drawing (with the tractor) a curved line on the boundary and another line perpendicular to the planted trees and drill at the intersection of the lines.

The number of trees should be on the main screen. Or at least in the tree planner panel.

I’ll look into the boundary tree spacing.

Will this file be a kml file or some other format? If kml, upload a sample and I’ll try to import it into AOG.

here is an example of a .kml file modified with autocad, it is very interesting because you can move a tree in any way with great precision.
But Autocad changed the layer icon, and now the trees on google earth look different.

if you will be able to upload these trees to Aog Tree that would be very cool.

test6ok.kml (440,0 KB)

Thanks.

I think we can make this work. I will build an import trees from KML button.

Well that worked.

Well that took some thinking. What it now does is draw the grid lines in each direction. The intersection of these lines and the boundary is where it drops a tree. As you can see in the pictures below, it aligns in each direction, so some trees get pretty close together on the boundary. Could limit x or y. I’ll post this version in a couple of days as I work the bugs out.

It is also now possible to open the field.kml add new placemarks in the tree folder, move existing trees, save the tree folder to a new kml file, open the field in AOG, reset to no trees and load the new layout including the placemarks and moved trees.

it’s really great!
thanks for the hard work you are doing.

Drew the local lake in kml and built a field. Dropped trees in the lake and then ask AOG to put trees at only the X intersections. About as complicated boundary as I can come up with. Worked like a charm. Just don’t know what the fishermen are going to do with all those trees. LOL! I thought it would take longer to process all the lines and intersections. But, about as fast as you can click the button and look at the screen they are built.

Now shows the grid on the main screen.

hi,
does the kml tree importer work?

Is it normal that I don’t see the yellow marker moving with the tractor in the top field view? I remember in v4 I could see it

Yes the kml importer does work, just not published yet. Time has gotten a bit short and work has gotten busy.

The yellow dot is still there, but the view is centered on the tool. I need to add a center of tool reference in the top view. Your tractor is at the very top of the screen.

no problem.
in the next days I have to plant some trees, I will use the viewfinder with the remaining distance and the sound (it seems to me very useful)

Some trees here…
Thanks to kentstuff.

i have an hydraulic drill mounted on my excavator, i will have to plant about 500 nut trees, about 5 meters x 5 meters
Do you think Aog-tree will work?

That’s what it was built for. Trick will be getting the excavator boom and antenna synced. You can mark the holes separately, then drill.

AOG-Tree_kml.zip

Here is the latest of the tree planning. @Deere reminded me that I never uploaded the kml import function. This version also has the boundary, bell, and has the dot in the center of the tool, not the center of the antenna on the little screen.

great!
i am trying to manually move some trees and it works,
in this version is it possible to put trees at the X intersections?

P.S. Kentstuff, have you ever thought about opening an account like “Buymeacoffe”?
you have been very helpful to us and I’d like to give my little support.

I do believe that this is that version. In the tree form there is a button with a B on it. If you have that button then you have that version. Once you build your field of trees, while all the xy and angle stuff is set, press that B button and it will drop trees at the boundary on the same xy grid and rotation. You may not be able to see them until you go back to the main screen.

very good, it works!

How accurate are you able to plant with this? Are you setting an AB line and then planting along that line? Are you running autosteer as you plant? Just curious. We make a lot of assumptions when programming.
