You can not see the position of the tractor.
You can download your fields from AgShare to all your tractors. You have to activate AgShare and the API-Key! Since Release 6.8.4 there is a automatical update of the fields I think.

In Agshare there is the option of downloading fields in multiple formats (KML, GeoJSON, ISOXML, Shapefile)
Are there plans to import Shapefiles in the future? That would be the perfect workflow from QGIS to AgShare.

Since 6.8.4 it’s optional to always load fields from AgShare if you pick Open Field, Resume or Drive in. When closing the field will be updated to AgShare

Updated to 6.8.6 today and AgShare seems to work more even better than it did this spring when I used it! I tried Google Drive and SyncThing, both worked ok but never could get rid of conflicts. Agshare took care of that completely! Couple questions or suggestions though.
Would it be possible to only update the lines that have been added instead of overwriting the entire field file each time you upload? Or possibly have the option to do that? It’s not a big deal having it overwrite the entire file but if you accidently close your fields down in the wrong order if you have multiple pieces of equipment working in the same field, you risk losing data possibly. Had it happen a couple times before I figured out what was going on this spring lol.
I see it is already on the road map, but worked area sharing would be a fantastic addition when that gets implemented. Any idea if that is getting close? For me personally it doesn’t matter till spring when we start spraying, but that would completely eliminate the need for sync thing then.
Equipment/Implement sharing would be nice on occasion as well. Less so that worked area coverage. Not a big deal to do that over google drive or with a flash drive either since I don’t get different equipment that often.
The ability to locally host an AgShare instance could be handy as well down the road. I suppose the amount of data that’s transferred with lines and even worked area coverage is pretty minimal but it would maybe cut down on the backend cost of the service if some of the more tech savy people hosted their own instance of it. I honestly have no idea what the cost is or how that cost scales.

@Farmboy94 I looked into point 1. When “Upload Active” is on, the whole field is uploaded every time you close it, and it replaces what is in AgShare. So with two tractors in same field, the one which closes last wins and the other one’s new lines are lost.
I think this can be fixed on the tablet side, without server changes. There is one decision though: if the upload merges lines, then a line you deleted on purpose can come back from the cloud. The other way is to warn before overwriting.
@Richardklasens_admin would you prefer merge or a warning? I would be happy to work on it. I am also thinking about working on Equipment/Implement syncing if that would be a something that would be pursued in future.

I’m working on most of your points, only upload data when it’s changed. So when using multiple tractors on 1 field both data will be merged.
About the mapping part, yes also in progress. I’m trying to work together with AgOpenWeb since current AgOpenGPS is in maintenance mode. Since mapping is linked to a task it would need a job/task structure so that a field is not directly linked to a mapping layout.
Agshare will not be available to local instances.

I think I personally would rather have them merge and then I can go to the cloud to delete any lines that need to be deleted. I’d rather have that than risk losing a line. I think I’d prefer to manage my lines from AgShare in general anyway, then I can clean up everything in one spot and all I have to do is redownload from the cloud. But that’s just my opinion, somebody else may have other ideas!
So no matter what mapping won’t be available until agweb comes out?

Is there the possibility to share fields with one specific other user?
I have the use case, that a colleague has his fields in Agshare and he wants me to help him. So it would be great that he could grant me access to those fields, so that I do not need to copy manually.
Make the field public? Would that work?
I’ve been having trouble the last two days with AgShare, thought it was something with my tablets but I can’t even access the website normally. Looks like a problem with the security certificate? Is this a known problem already or am I the only one having issues?
