AIO 4.5 standard heatsink

I received the missing heatsinks for my AIO standard 4.5 boards today but not sure on fitting them.
The screw hole doesn’t line up so is no use but should I solder them under the board and should they be touching or a gap left?

Normally the FET would be soldered higher so that the screw hole matches up.

I assume that unsoldering the FET and moving it up is not possible for you, since they probably clipped the legs short after soldering.

Normally the heat sink leg is soldered into the hole.

The heat sink isn’t very useful if it isn’t screwed to the FET.

Can you drill and tap a new M3 hole in the heat sink?

Thanks I’ll see what I can do.

You can use a thermal paste

Thanks I was hoping someone might say that.

Is it too tall to flip upside down? Or trim the edge and mount it sideways?
