My boards have arrived, but do have some questions if I did everything right when ordering.
These probably need some rework
Are these supposed to be unpopulated?
Does this mosfet need isolation from the cooler?
Still have to order the DC DC converters as they were out of stock
My boards came with the LED’s crooked as well. File a quality control complaint with JLCPCB. The is a link on your order page to do so.
The resistors are only needed if you are using a Bynav GNSS module.
The MOSFET does need an insulator. However it does need a 3mm screw.

The silkscreen with component names on the underside of PCB is for through hole components. When made with smd components they all have the “same” components on the top side of PCB. If this pcb really need a insulting sheet between mosfet and cooler, then you should also use plastic 3 mm screw.
The screws have an insulating plastic washer.
Are you sure about that, cuz I have it running with no insulation and it works. Also if you look at easyEDA pcb files, heat sink is not grounded or connected anywhere on board.

I continuity checked and there was no path between heatsink and ground.
So if they touch it should not matter.

Yes, my point exactly. And I also used iron screw for that mosfet and never had an issue.

Thanks,
Filed a complaint, let’s see what they say.
Now some more study on what I’m gonna need for my setup
They gave me a free assembly coupon and $25 JLCPCB credit.
