Autosteer help on a Claas Arion 660

Hi everybody,

I am working on an auto steer system for our new claas tractor and have a question, the front axle has a hole already and a mount for a steering angle sensor. We think that it will be best to use the genuine one as it will fit the hole correctly and be water tight, but it seems that it will be 12v. Would this work as a sensor for agopengps at 12v and does anyone have the part number for the claas one as the claas parts website doesnt give the correct one.

Thanks, Joel

need to check

the sensor can be 12v power supply but how output ?

if 0-5v ok
if 0-12V need to adapt a resistor brige to divide the voltage

The sensor is 0.5 to 4.5v out signal so is OK to use.

I will check when it arrives

Is that the claas sensor? It is a 2021 model year so has the solid front axle. I have not been able to find the sensor for sale online

Hi Joel, did you manage to fit an original claas sensor ? I’m getting started with a Claas Arion over here

Hi, on my claas arion the mounting point for the factory sensor i used however the claas sensor uses 12v input and is very expensive so i bought a honeywell throttle position sensor and with some slight modification i managed to fit that and it works perfectly. the sensor i used was a honeywell RTY110LVNAX

I think joel made a very good solution. But just to inform you when ordering the Honeywell sensor: they come with different voltage and pinout. Seen by the last letters. LVNAX IS low voltage north American pinout, and HVNAX is high voltage (10 to 30 volt dc input)north American. Both have output below 5 v.
They also come with European pinout. Where the lettet N is changed to E
But check the spec sheet for Honeywell Hall-effect rotary position sensors
I use 90 degree sensor for my Hurlimann tractor ( 75 degree steer angle), and must admit I use normal steel mounting screws. Probably not perfect linear output then, but seem good enough for autosteer.

That washer is the Claas oem part ? What does that cost you may I ask ?

i used the one that was there that plugged the hole and drilled a hole through it, it is held in with two bolts and is easily accessible if you remove the front mudguard
