Back in July, I shared plans about offering complete AgOpenGPS kits in the United States. I’m happy to share that I’ve sold several kits locally and through the forum.
Here is the newly revamped website: Starr Guidance. Let me know your thoughts or suggestions!
Spring Ready Kits
I’m currently assembling new kits that will be ready to ship by mid-January. Don’t miss your chance to gear up for the spring!
If you have any questions, you can enter your email in the website, message me directly on the forum, or respond to this thread.
Oh nice catch! haha. I am working on a support page now! It will include steps on how to install a kit and organized tips and tricks for issues that either we figured out or we found on the forum. This will be available to everyone.
TBF it looks like a pre assembled pretty standard AOG setup so the price isn’t too bad for that alone. There are some who have been here for quite a while making a fair mess of doing just this so IF this setup is assembled well then fair play IMHO.
I am determined to not put out shit quality. This will definitely be our top priority when selling kits.
We are going to test some kits on 2 different side-by-sides, and 4 different tractors. I plan on doing durability tests to ensure quality - will share the results with the forum.
Might also want to mention in the system description that the buyer will need to fabricate their own WAS and steering motor brackets. Unless you plan to supply those items via consultation before kit purchase.
At least for the WAS there is a thread on Discourse with lots of pictures for different tractors. Might be helpful to include that link somewhere. Also there are so many different motor mounts you might just want to pick one as an example and provide a link for that so folks know what they are getting into and what is involved to have a complete working system.
Nobody wants to see a commercial system customer show up in the various AOG open source forums saying they bought a kit but now need more stuff they didn’t know about to make a working system.
Ah, those are good ideas. I think these two items might call for a standalone area where I can provide examples and links to others on the forum. Definitely want to be upfront with what the installation steps are.
I totally agree with my colleagues’ statements that the price is attractive
I want to say that the higher prices of complete (completely 100%) sets from other sellers are probably due to the fact that they include after-sales service for customers (just so that they do not write on other discussion forums asking for help), hundreds of hours by phone, telegram, e-mail and others.
I don’t think anyone will argue with me that time also costs
Not to mention the warranty for at least one or two years.
