FZG1 Access Port Denied

Access to port denied on Steer module.
I have followed all existing advice on this forum to fix this issue.
There’s no particular correlation when this happens.
I have replaced my Surface pro 3 (broken touch screen) with an FZG1. I only get this problem on my FZG1.
I have to unplug the power to restart the nano so that it will detect the com port again.
I’m at a loss other than to sell this FZG1 and buy another.

Just narrowed it down to occuring when it’s plugged in to a power supply

So the old issue with not having same GND when using USB. I had same type of occational loosing usb connections for autosteer in tractor. Because I used direct power from battery( plus and GND) Fir autosteer., and then used a cigarette lighter car charger for laptop.

How do I get around this? Why aren’t they the same ground?
I use a 12v powersupply for autosteer that is directly next to the cigarette lighter which supplies laptop
I use a car charger to 240v adapter, would a proper FZG1 car charger sort the issue?

I bet you have no connection from laptop gnd to cigarette lighter gnd.
So somehow connect laptop gnd so you get same potential at both sides of usb connection.

I assume proper car charger will fix that issue

Hopefully.
But just try to use one more usb cable. The blank metal ends are gnd. So touch the extra usb to gnd at autosteer side and see if that can cure the problem

Access denied on a COM port most often means another app has it open. Close u-center perhaps?

I literally only have agopengps installed on this laptop

A screenshot of the whole screen while the error message comes up might help
