Individual row shutoff for Case Ih Cyclo 955 corn planter

You can also use the workswitch from the autosteer pcb, until you build a full switch board!

For the flow selenoid I would put one lead on MA or MB and the other to GND.

Finally back to getting this up and running. I have the RC11 board, and the latest release of the RC app only has the RC11-2 option. Will that be compatable, @sk21?

The RC11-2 option is to set the default values for it. The firmware will work with any board if the setting are changed to fit it. The main differences is canbus, work pin and pressure pin. Work pin and pressure pin can be set to 0. As long as Ethernet is enabled (the default) instead of CanBus it should work.

Sounds good, thanks!:+1:

Moved to a different farm last summer, and the new farm already had a rental contract for the growing season, and the guy who bought our previous farm planted the crop last spring there, so this will be the first season to try this setup! Got all the software updates done and tested the section control, and it’s working. Now I need to get the fertilizer pump hooked up to hydralocs and working.

With a bit of a time crunch, I want to plant corn next week! :winking_face_with_tongue:
“Farming is saying ‘Next week it should slow down a bit’ over and over until we die” -unknown

Another question: RC isn’t seeing pulses from either my flow meter or the proximity switch rpm sensor I set up. What’s to check next? It’s wired to 5v, ground, and flow 1 on the RC11

Are you using a LJ12A3? It needs 12V.

What is your flow meter?

The proximity switch is a DKARDU Approach Sensor M12 4mm Detecting Distance Inductive Proximity Switch NPN NO Normally Open, 3D Printer LJ12A3-4-Z/BY Sensing DC 6-36V for MCU, 2 PCS : Amazon.ca: Industrial & Scientific from Amazon.
The flow meter is a microtrac. This is what was on the invoice for the flow meter

Is the board good for 12v pulses from the rpm sensor?

Yes it is good for 12v with a NPN sensor. The flowmeter is the same one I use.

Is there a way to test pwm settings without going to the calibration page?

Use manual mode.

Finally got the RC to see pulses, after over-pressurizing the fertilizer system often enough to make the 60psi guage fail… It appears like I need to plumb in a sprayer-style flow regulating valve, as the pump is barely turning to achieve my target rate of 5gallons/acre… Off to the local sprayer supply shop tomorrow:winking_face_with_tongue:

Other notes: According to the PrecisionPlanting dealer I occasionally work with, the FM750LF does not necessarily read down to .5gal/min, as per spec. At 5mph (8km/h) at 5 US gal/acre (18.9L/acre or 46L/ha) I am looking for a flow of approximately 0.909 US gal/ minute. So they sold me an FM500 flowmeter. Then it rained, and I need the planter outdoors to work on (hopefully only this spring…) so I did some research on how MicroTrak connects their flow meters to their monitors. Turns out I also had the signal and power wires switched…:squinting_face_with_tongue: Note: black is ground, red is signal, white is power. And with MicroTrak’s own system, they use 12V supply. I am using 5V and it is now seeing pulses with the new FM500 flow meter, wired correctly.

Next issue still is that at my required rate the pump is barely turning… As mentioned abouve, I believe I will need a flow regulator of some kind to increase flow at the pump, and divert a bunch back into the suction line, before it goes through the flow meter. This is how it is hooked up at the moment.

Parts sourcing complete! Now to install… And hope it does what I’m wanting it to do

Seems to work when the ethernet doesn’t experience interferance from the worklights!.. Didn’t know to get shielded ethernet back when i set up the tractor. That will need to get upgraded in the future.

Now that i got the liquid rate going, the section control doesnt come on anymore…

https://photos.app.goo.gl/55ceUBMNge1xS51g6 I forget what settings I all showed in thatvideo, but nothing I’ve done tonight makes the sections go anymore… Tried reflashing teensy with the latest firmware, tried deleting the RC app and starting over, changed relay setting to no relays and back to 8 relays, Checked my dpdt relays amd when I put power on the signal, then it activates the actuator and activates the rc11 relay and led, Traces from teensy to relay driver are 0.0 v and from the relay driver to the relays all are 12v with section on or off. Tried restarting the tablet, still nothing

Some settings to check.

Not sure what’s going on now, I got the relays to activate again, after putting the latest firmware on the Teensy. But it seems it doesn’t like something when the relays disengage. As soon as I turn the sectikns off, the product goes from green to greyed out (offline)

Plugged everything in on a spare rc-11, sections seem to be working and stayimg connected now. Guess I’ll put that one in the box, see what happens then…

Another thing, I had it set to ‘PCA9555 8 relays’ and now ‘GPIOs’ makes it work. For some reason I thought it was supposed to be the PCA9555 8 relays for the on-board relays on an RC11
