I’ve been helping a neighbour fitting a Keya motor to a 2017 MF 7726.
I’ve tapped into the factory installed WAS signal wire and left the tractor 12v supply.
It seems to work for a few minutes then the signal goes haywire and totally unusable.
I’ve connected to pin 2 on the Ampseal WAS High.
We’ve had it steering so everything else seems okay.
If you already have the sensor installed you can use CAN BUS
Check this post CanBus for Beginners - Super Simple - #1300 by JensKnudsen
They already did it for your tractor
Connect the WAS signal to AIO WAS_H
Connect the WAS gnd to AIO WAS_L
Set the ADS1115 settings for differential mode.
How do you use the was over canbus aswell as using the keya over canbus? The teensy would be programmed for the keya code how can it also be used for the massey code aswell?
If using a 4.1 micro board with only 1 canbus
Okay thanks I’ll give that a try.
It is a “ready” tractor, it already has a sensor and valve pre-installed, it does not need a KEYA.
I don’t think this tractor is Steer ready as it doesn’t have the quick steer or auto steer buttons installed.
Tried these but no change suspecting bad Wheel angle sensor.
My tractor doesn’t have buttons either, it’s because before the TOPCOM screen was used, they put the buttons when I switched to Trimble.
If the sensor came already installed in the wheel, it is because it is ready.
Have you tried reading the canbus and see if you can control it?
A lot of newer tractors have a WAS even if they are not steer ready.
I’m pretty sure that in some market there are none-steer-ready MF.
I did 7724 with baraki valve a year ago. There is
empty socket in front on cabin where you can find was signal and ground cables, you can connect these to pcb. There is also another socket under engine what connets WAS, maybe dust in that or falty wiring somewhere?
Thanks looks like a bad WAS new one being fitted next week hopefully will sort it out.
We’re still having problems with this wheel angle sensor even after fitting a new one and cable to the front axle.
It seemed to work fine for a few days but now gone again.
Has anyone else had trouble after connecting factory WAS to AOG?
Could it be upsetting something in the tractor electronics?
The WAS is on the original 12v supply and AIO from the power socket in the cab.
