Hi!

Have anyone found out the problem with the steering disengaging randomly on these S series tractors? I have tested on a mf 5s145, over canbus, but have some problem with it randomly disengaging..

Just random disengage or any other erratic steering? How often is it disengaging
Seems the newer mf series all have similar issues

I have a fix for it:

this should make the autosteer button to just blink once instead of disconnecting

Hi, so yesterday i did som spraying for 3-4 hours. Had no issue with it disconnecting. :slight_smile:

Only thing is, when i did some tuning of the steering parameters before the spraying, i had a issue when i activated the autosteer, it would not lock on to the AB line, i could hear it control the steering valve, but it did not move the wheels. I ended up trying a reboot of the AOG software, and had no issue after that. What exactly caused this i do not know.

BGunics just curious, but could you explain what changes you have done to the firmware? :slight_smile:

I can try yes. Had a machine that was disconnecting randomly between 5 and 50 seconds…

Led flicker: our message was padded with 00 we changed that to FF and the autosteer button LED no longer flickers.

Random disconnect:
The tractor goes into a “reset/handshake requested” mode. In this case we do what he asks:

  • happliy autosteering
  • Handshake needed! (this is where previously we quit)
  • autosteer off
  • valve goes back to normal
  • autosteer on, happliy autosteering

I’m sure it’s something similar on the 8S as well but we’d need the logs. And tell Claude that when it randomly disconnects we usually reconnecrted withing X seconds.

Another question, will this firmware also work with dual gps? With an unicore um982?

Yes it does just set it to forwarding mode
