PCB v4.5 questions

  1. v4.5 standard build, do I need the ADS board that I ordered from JLC, thought there was discussion whether or no that was needed
  2. I have the printed enclosures, mounting options- it has arrow to point towards front, can it be on its side, if using bynav does position matter
  3. ByNav has a header to install, looks like a 2 row 14 by 2.00mm is that correct, I cannot find data of the ByNav header size
  4. In the far back corner there is a little square that says ByNav only, do I need to solder soemthing there or whats that all about, cant find much documentation about the ByNav

If its got the board mounted ads1115 by jlcpcb you wont need the additional ads1115 module ( put a picture up of your board)
Arrow on enclosure points to direction of travel but you can turn the enclosure but your will need to alter the orientation of the bno in the steering settings page
The enclosure needs to be mounted flat
Only worry about the bynav bits if your using one. Most people are using the f9p or the um982

I will get a pic of board, I do plan to use a ByNav on 1 setup as I have the ByNav from a previous project.

The ByNav only square in bottom left corner of pic and then it also has some thru board holes for ByNav uart2 and ByNav uart3 in 2 spots, do I need to deal with those

The ads1115 is on the board so no need for the module one
Ive no idea on bnav im afraid never used one

For the bynav you will need the mp1584 in the corner of the board. It is a voltage regulator that converts to 3.3v for the bynav.

Thanks, there are also 2 three hole spots one says ByNavUm982 uart2 and the other says ByNav/Um982 uart3, do I need to put something in these or are they for more GPS outputs from the ByNav or something?

I am also having a terrible time finding this MP1584EN, thought it would be a simple find but I must be missing something in my search

Have you checked the bom files for your board it will give you a part number for the item in a particular spot i think

I did but don’t think the ByNav stuff is considered in build so not on parts list, I looked at alternative parts list but can’t seem to find anything with those part numbers

This one. But only if you plan to buy a bynav receiver and not a F9P

The uart 2 and 3 are just for extra serial connections to the bynav/um982, could be used for usb-ttl interface to configure the bynav or get nmea directly out of bynav so generally not used.

I have a ByNav from a previous build that I am trying to move into the v4.5 build. Its been a challenge as now much info on the ByNav in docs etc. I will need to find some docs on ByNav settings next in case they have changed since the vers 2 board setup.
