Hi guys! I’ve been using the 4.1 for a while with the latest version of aog. I run the phidgets at 12v and everything it’s being fed through the ampseal connector. After 1-2h or sometimes more of working properly, suddenly the motor stops but it keeps the back force. Like a “proper brake” to the steering wheel. I disengage and it disconnects. I engage it again and starts working again for few seconds then freezes again. Engine temperature it’s hot but not super hot… pcb seems ok. Any ideas or did it happen to anyone? Thanks
Have you tried replacing the cytron?
How many amps does the 12 volt motor draw?, it could just be the protection features of the cytron?
I ran a 24v phidgets motor at 12v on a combine all season without issue but it wouldn’t do u turns, was just straight line or curve guidance
I tried today replacing cytron. Is doing same thing. It feels like it’s missing power to start turning the wheel randomly. It could be from the cable for the freewheel mode maybe… I don’t know. I could fully do a field with no issues then the next one randomly blocks and it’s really hard to turn the wheel until I disengage. I did u-turns today and everything worked nice. Then on next field on a straight line just randomly does that.
When freewheel mode is done there shouldn’t be any resistance on the motor.
Did you enable current sensor feature?
Is motor getting hot?
No but i meant it’s hard to turn when it stops working. So steering is engaged, but motor just freezes and has like a brake on it. Then suddenly starts turning then again freezes . If I disengage then it turns okay. Motor temperature is getting hot but not hot enough to not be able to keep your hand on it
Shooting from the hip here. Is your teensy/nano bogging down and not sending commands? Did you try a different one?
Update: I might have found the solution. Did some measurements on all the board and at the end there was one figure fluctuating and that was the red cable out of the 4 cables from freewheel mode. I rewelded the cable and there it goes. Works for now :)) thanks everyone
