Plough control 2.0

I used Tonys plough control code and edit it a bit and started to add some controls in aog v6.3.3.

We testen with a Kuhn Variomaster L .

We added a Was sensor, hydraulic valve and i made a custom pcb with cytron, nano and bluetooth module.

We will keep testing these season and when results are good i will upload my .ino and v6.3.3.

Here are a few field test pictures. Will upload more in a few days. Plough worked good in fur as onland.

Could you share more details about your valve (brand/type/cost…). Is the valve connected to power beyond lines or to one spool valve that is pumping all the time?

Any plans to add more complex steer modes like contour, contour to AB and vice versa, fan type or such?

Hi, sure.

Its a load sensing valve on power beyond from Kramp and black and white control so no Pwm. I will post article numbers later.

In winter i gonna try to add fan mode and disengage by hitch position. So you can enter the value when it should engage and disengage plough control.
Could you explain the 2 others you mentioned?

Sounds perfect, or actually almost perfect for me. I have previously used my own plough control system where I’ve used the rear mud guard external control for a hydraulic valve but those do not work on a gen6 Fendt 724 any more (limited to some 2km/h speed). I’d prefer CAN control but have not succeeded, an external electrically controlled on/off valve on power beyond would be the next best thing for me.

I have used the implement socket pin #4 (rear hitch up/down signal) to disengage plough width control but perhaps pin 5 would give more flexibility if the UI allows set point control. Should be easy to set a height above any normal operation anyway. I’ve also used a minimum speed threshold to avoid plough width adjustments when the tractor is stationary.

AB and fan modes would be fine for me as my programming skills have not allowed any more advanced modes. “The other two” modes would apply to a field where you start from a contour line but want to adjust the plough width to gradually reach a straight AB-line. Vice versa when finishing a field, one would use AB lines from the middle of the field but would gradually move towards a contour line that matches the end of the field. This all of course if the AB to/from contour line change can be managed with plough width control (equally as in the fan mode case). Would work on a large field or when the field edge is not too far from a straight line.

One more feature on the wish list would be an alert if the plough has not been turned after being lifted (at the head land) and when lowered again. No need to worry about a stop followed by plough lifted an lowered again, then continuing the same direction. Could use direction of travel as an enhancement but not necessary at all.

I did same with pin4 but on this deutz pin 4 did not send any voltage. I saw thay pin 5 was 0 to 10v so i will make in the ui with voltage you want it to disengage.

This will be the fan mode.
