Question interest in steering valve block?

Ive had this happen aswell.
Fitted the counter balance valve cured it for me on a 50k tractor with reactive orbital.

Thank you for the replies. I guess I was was not really clear in my original post. The problem is the steering wheel spins on its own when auto steer is engaged because oil is back feeding through the orbital. I was wondering if there was an advantage in using the counterbalance valve over a double check valve.

Ive no idea on the difference between the 2 types but ive fitted 2 of charles valves and fitted the counter balance valve to both and it certainly stops the steering wheel turning during autosteer. Adding the extra valve made absolutely no difference to the steering feel in my case, there is a screw to adjust completely out and you can adjust accordingly.

Ok thanks. I can get the check valve locally but I’m trying to find out if the proportional valve is better. If it is I would just get it from him.

A counter balance would be smoother in some cases, like when you are retaining a load (lowering a load) where the double check valve could jerk because the return is faster than the push.

In this case I don’t know if you really need a counterbalance valve, the double check probably work fine.

Just tried it this morning.
It’s fantastic, perfectly light steering response with zero feedback. Better than the overcentre by some margin and half the price. Not sure why I didn’t find this part earlier to be honest!

I used a 3/8" 5.5:1 pilot ratio valve, part number V0020 on Flowfit.

Good find :ok_hand:
Now you just need a way of adding this to the original autosteer valve🤣
Its certainly looks alot smaller than the other offering. I see this has nothing to adjust compared to the counter balance valve, might this be a possible problem or is it set light enough to start with to cover all types

I can’t guarantee anything yet, and I’ll give it a week on my fendt to see if there are any surprises, but I think it would work on everything.

We have the valve blocks in. We figured a list price for that part at $406.44 USD.
We have valve cartridges on order from a Hydraforce distributor. Those and the plugs will cost an additional $900 USD. The whole thing will be about $1300.

Is this plumbed in the same as the counterbalance valve with regards to c1/2 and v1/2

Yes, exactly the same

Have you actually fitted one of these valves and tested yet?
Any pictures of the complete made up valve

I have been trying to get cartridges from other sources to fully install one. The first design that lacked the internal blocker and enable is working on several tractors but that block was also nearly twice the size of this one and required an external 6/2 valve to act as the blocker/enabler.
The pressure control and steering is the same design, we just used the software to place everything more compact to make this one.
I have most of the cartridges either here or shipping here except maybe one that while waiting for Hydraforce I might have to buy it a triple Hydraforce’s normal price.

Sitting half assembled on the desk

Work ports (Lt/Rt in and Lt/Rt out) and load sense in/out located on one end of block.
Also SAE4 port for inlet steering pressure sensor.

Pressure Inlet, Tank, Power Beyond located on opposite end of block

Ports SAE4 where power beyond pressure, load sense in pressure, and input steering pressure can be measured
