Has anyone used their service ? It’s advertised at 40$ a month.I need rtk accuracy for a couple months in the spring. If this will work I feel like it is a better option for me than trying to build my own base station.
I appreciate any input.
Thanks.
Kentucky has a free cors network. Have you looked into that? Called kycors.
Yes I have but the closest tower is about 35 miles from my farm , wasn’t sure about accuracy.
Yeah that is a ways away. I’ve never used rtkdata so can’t help you there…
Might be worth a try. A quick google search showed a Reddit thread that mentioned you could sign up for VRS (virtual reference station) service. While the nearest tower is 35 miles away if the system has VRS it should be able to calculate a more accurate correction for your immediate area based on readings from their surrounding towers.
They offer a 30 day free trial so if it dries up it’s worth it shot.
I was referring to the Kentucky CORS network. That might give you better accuracy than you expect if it has VRS
Good point I need to get in touch with the administrator of cors the first of the week.
I can’t say anything about rtkdata.com, But i am in Indiana and use the INCORS network via mobile hotpot… I would assume KY is fairly similar, and if so there is a variety of options for rtk signal, you can choose from single station, multipe station network, VRS, etc.. it has been a very nice signal for free…well worth a look into
