Begin to enjoy GNSS driving, although still on lightbar.
I like to combine my side shiftabe front mulcher
‘https://www.muething.com/mu-m-vario/’
with a disc harrow in the back.
The harrow is nominal 3m, but throws soil to both sides and drifts down side hills.
Using the harrow alone (and configured it as the tool in AfOpenGPS) I configured it with 5 cm offset to the right to get a symmetrical work picture.
The Mulcher is 2,80 m, and 18 cm offset to the right in leftmost position.
It can be shifted (even while working) some 60 cm or so to the right.
My manual steering is as follows:
- cut through the field with the mulcher only in leftmost - nearly centered - position
- shift the mulcher to the right, and keep cycling on the right side with both tools in operation, so the harrow has enough offset to the mulcher not to throw clumps into unmulched areas - as long as we are in nearly level field
- on side hills, instead I work upwards, since the harrow and soil drift downwards
The position of the mulcher is changed then at every turn.
My first trials were
- configure the mulcher as tool in AgOpenGPS with the leftmost offset and 20 cm overlap
- start from outside and set an AB line
- cut through along a parallel to this line
- (plan:) ignore AgOpenGPS when the mulcher is shifted out of the configured position
Sadly my harrow got broke, so I have to wait for parts and repair before I can report on the results.
- Any better ideas?
- Any way, workaround or plan to configure more than one tool?
- Any way to work with shiftable tools? Sensor?
- is this task related to adjustable plough steering?
