Solution to steer motor always turning only one way

I had a situation where the steer motor would always turn hard one way and the invert steer direction button didn’t do anything. It came about after putting a backup cytron into a previously working system.

Turns out the header pin for the dir pin was not actually making a connection with the cytron itself and so it was not getting the signal to change direction. I soldered wires from the back of the plug to the pins and now it works fine.

I think the trace to the pins must have broken because my solder joint itself was good. I saw other posts on here about people thinking they had burned up their cytrons and this might have been the problem

I was having the same problem. If you are using a 24V system, you may have problems with the connection. You must supply 24V from the convertor to the cytron. It must be connected directly to the engine from the outputs. (my problem was like this)
