Interesting idea to use the bearing to stabilize the motor to ring gear interface. Not sure about the chosen bearing. It looks like it is steel balls on an aluminum race. Being unsealed in the dusty environment of a tractor could be a wear problem. It looks like the bearing is meant for a rotating cake stand or other indoor low rotational use situation.
It is tested. More than 100 hours of work went into it. Dust protection can be solved. The printed elements close the gaps and additional protection can be provided with fabric. Its main advantage is that it is not necessary to dismantle the steering column.
And since the fit is better, a PG42 motor is perfectly sufficient.
Have you found the bearing to be robust enough to handle the forces? I really like this approach. Similar to the ag leader steering setup.
Hi , I am a French Farmer using AOG and intrestead with your bearing mount . Cant you indicate me if you are happy of the system ? What is the model of motor and the ratio ? Its not a problem in the road ?
And the sound ? problem ?
Thanks for the answer .

i like it. Any chance you can share the model? I have to cut the model in half. Doesn’t fit on my 3D printer.
