I just received two new teensy 4.1 . When I plug them into usb on laptop I get an orange slow blinking light but the laptop doesn’t recognize it. When I try to configure with configuromatic it doesn’t come up. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the cable is charge only. Try a different cable particularly one marked charge and data.
As said definitely sounds like your usb isnt right. Try another data cable
