So can I use AOG with a pre existing Eaton steering valve that’s on my Case IH 305 Magnum? I have WAAS auto steer with a Trimble 372 and a AFS Pro 700 that’s uses the Eaton valve for auto steer. I want to take a cheaper route of getting RTK auto steer and I want to use AOG with the Indiana CORS network. So how would I tap into that Eaton valve to run AOG? I want to keep my AFS pro 700 monitor to run my planter just because I’m familiar with it, but I strictly want AOG for the autosteer. So how would that work? If not I’m guessing I can just order a Baraki valve and run it instead?
By the look of it, you can feed the Trimble with your own rtk messages or Cors. Try search for Trimble 372 at top right in discourse, should give you
24 results.
You want aog to steer or only get rtk corrections?
But don’t you need to unlock the 372 for like $4000 to use CORS just like any other RTK service? I only have the WAAS unlock, you should have to go through the RTX and RTK unlocks before I could connect to CORS right?
I’m wanting steer
You have pcb and all?
I haven’t purchased anything yet, I’m getting a list together of everything I need to build a system
Best is to make picture of eaton valve and then we might see what we can suggest. I think its a normal pwm valve. That you can run with the standard 4.5 pcb and all.
The eaton valve that the Magnum 305 uses is just an analog pwm solenoid valve like what is used on the Baraki valve, should be able to tap into the nav connector to apply the pwm signal from the AOG controller to the valve itself. But you may be better off removing the 372 and using AOG to feed the position and let the 700 do the steering and planter controls. You can use the gps out feature and get a usb to db9 adapter then all you need is a AIO 4.5 board and a gps board/antenna, Teensy and an internet hotspot or modem. The CIH nav should handle the roll correction since you already have steering control.
The nav cannot roll correct the position with AOG.
The nav would be removed.
I was just suggesting an easier alternative to replacing the current steering system, you can feed a trimble/cnh nav a GPS position with a rs232 adapter cable I believe and let the PRO 700 handle the rest since he wants to keep the 700 for planter functions and tractor data.
