I’m in need of another GPS for standard size board. Thinking about going the route of the X20P / SimpleRTK4. Mainly hoping for a bit better RTK fix stability when close to tree lines and in rolling fields. I have a few areas where the F9P will drop fix and wondering if this would be a bit more consistent. Does anyone see any cons to this new unit using it with AgOpen?
I’m guessing you will need to have custom config file.
It does boast seeing more satellites and stronger reception in shaded areas, so would be interesting to try.
yes. I think doing a custom config on the GPS should be pretty straight forward with the ucenter software. So that part doesn’t worry me. I went ahead an ordered one. Hopefully it ships before the end of the month, then will see what happens.
Do you mean more satellites at the rover because F9P does not support all four constellations at 10 Hz position update rate?
Is your base supporting L5 too?
A bit disappointing in my opinion that X20P does not support L2 on all GPS satellites, only on the modernised ones with L2C. Would have been nice to have a lower cost Septentrio Mosaic X5 replacement with full support of all satellites on all frequency bands.
Yes. And I use a CORS correction that has L5
