Adapter for Deere SSU replacement

Continuing the discussion from Adapting a JD Greenstar ready tractor for AOG:

Here are the Gerber files for Deere adapters, unplug the SSU, plug in this adapter, and run wires to the steering controller of your choice. Depending on your machine, you may have to disable the SSU settings to cancel the “missing SSU” errors. If you are unsure how to do this, ask your dealer to uninstall the Deere autosteer option. The PCB CAD files are created in Fritzing and live on AOG-silrep. The wire holes are labeled right on the PCB. Wire sizes are 18ga and 12ga. The engage switch has to be supplied separate from the machine, Deere usually uses Canbus, but we don’t have that working.

Machine adapter JD S6xx Rev A.zip (88.1 KB)
Machine control adapter JD 30 series Rev B.zip (80.0 KB)
Machine control adapter JD R series Rev B.zip (78.9 KB)

The 30 series has been used with Deere 7530
The R series has been used with Deere 6170R
The S6xx has been used with Deere S670

If you have a different machine you may need to modify one of the above boards. The adapter uses the Molex 0643330100 plug.

Here’s a photo of the adapter potted into a Polycase BF-060210-MB box.

And a photo of the PCB and plug with wires.
