Is that 6 pin connector for the steering valve? It appears to me that 4 pin connectors are needed for the WAS (X637) & encoder (X837)
Yes, this is the same address I have found.
I will send you all the other messages I have identified.
If there is someone else who is interested in helping, just let me know.
Hi, I have been looking at JD too - I’ve some info found in various places, might be worth collaborating.
I do know that JD encrypt their steer messages, and it’s not going to be easy to decode that.
It appears the image attachments for your message have been lost on the server, could you share then again?
So to summarize the JD situation to date, we can only read the WAS via can bus but can’t control anything. It’s possible to connect directly to the WAS, encoder & steering valve bypassing all the GreenStar electronics.
Is this correct?
How does it work to utilize yield mapping on a 2630 without a JD receiver? I understand it has a rs232 input for nmea. Does anyone have the details for which pins to connect, which nmea sentences are needed and other relevant settings?
I was able to control a 6100 series direct to the fema valves, reading the WAS analog. It moaned for the valves being unplugged tho. Waiting to get a quote on the agragps terminator plugs that apparently work to shut the ssu up
If anyone has some canbus traces showing the steering commands tho, I’d love to see them ?
I know they’re encoded but I’m crafty
I saw that but it only explains the NMEA sentences.
Oops. I guess I put the wrong link. Try this link for instructions on adding a serial port to a JD display
Did you buy the JD harness or hack something in?
Just cut up an old harness we had laying around if I remember correctly.
here is a savycan log from a JD6150R with Topcon steering it via the ISOBUS. I believe there is an unlock on the JD for the particular brand of thirdparty gps required.
Hope this may be of help.
6150R topcon startup.xlsx (2.4 MB)
Thanks - was the topcon actually steering the tractor at this time in the log?
0x0CADF01C is “GPS1_GMC” apparently.
This shows in the PVED_CLS_App dbc.
Steer state is the standard:
Must need some sort of authorization tho… wish I had something to test on
The same DBC decodes the WAS as:
You can also find wheel angle in 0x0CACFF13 by the look of it.
From memory I started the log with tractor off to catch all the startup address claim stuff right through to engaging autosteer and disengaging.
I only happened on this thread today.
Here is the adapter board I use for the S670 combine for the R series
https://aisler.net/p/TCQWAIQT
And the adapter board for earlier versions like 7530 and the S670 combine
https://aisler.net/p/MMIWJLRZ
both use wires going to the controller of your choice and then use this plug to solder in the adapter and plug into JD
then sell the SSU and have money to pay most of AOG
The tractor/combine doesn’t complain about the missing SSU?
