Alternative gps module

That looks like it. Thanks

I could be wrong, sorry.

This looks a lot like the bynav footprint

Hereā€™s a breakout board with standard sma connectors. And you can solder headers to for the uart:

I really wish this forum wouldnā€™t convert all the ali express links to netherlands.

I guess that for $200 you canā€™t go wrong. Thatā€™s less than a single F9P.

Which board is that? Has someone already tried the um982 out?

This board not tested

Do you need l5 receiver as base station to get l5 corrections? Do you think heading can be used in AOG? Or just F9P replacement? Also 3 band antenna is needed x2.

I asked him about version. Sell only da version

Um982 with 2 antennas about same price as f9p kit. So they say with dual rtk you can get 0.1 deg heading, 20 hz rtk. Uprecise looks much cleaner then u-center. Worth a try.

This UM982 sounds interesting. F9P supports GPS L2C only, this one does L2P (L2 on all current GPS satellites).

They do not mention anything about base station mode and RTCM output. Perhaps just incomplete specs?

Could not find anything about tilt compensation at a given antenna height. Is that left for the application?

Now waiting for a reasonable evaluation kit, I would not touch a 4G evaluation board from mainland China.

anyone actually bought that?

AliExpress

What about this? Um626n
10hz rtk

A few people have tried out the um982. I am designing a um982 module with the same footprint as a Micro F9P. Will probably have it tested by mid the late September.

Aliexpress has a UM982 board for $100. I put it in my cart and started check out. I got a $10 off coupon which covered tax and shipping. I ordered one and it is supposed to be here by 9/18. WIll report back after I play with it for a bit.

I will also test um982.

It looks like you are ahead of the game. Modified the dual standard F9P design to fit the um982. Would you care to share the schematic for that board?

Iā€™m seeing two versions of the same board, @Radmuffins has a v1.1, the one you linked to is v1.0. Some minor difference between the two layouts, Iā€™m guessing nothing major that stops us from ordering v1.0

um982

@Radmuffins can you confirm if the difference between the one you got and the one linked above is something significant?
