As an alternative to modifying the Cytron to freewheel, can an isolation switch be fitted to the motor power cables to isolate the motor when not autosteering?
Seems an obvious thing to do, but I’ve not seen it mentioned?

you can use a 5v relay also like this

I use a relay that is triggered by the same switch as the one engaging autosteer for the application.
This way power is always of when autosteer should be of. ANd I don’t need an extra switch.
