See this thread on my 5488 install.
I had 2 Baraki open center 30 l valves running on planting tractors in 2024; one on a 5488 and one on a 5088. I’m gradually upgrading the fleet to newer MX Magnums, but I had good success with AOG and the Baraki valve on the 88’s.
The pumps between the 88’s and 86’s are a bit different, but i think the steering circuit is essentially the same from the autosteer valve’s perspective. The 88’s have a priority valve that directs a fixed amount of flow to the steering and brakes, and behaves like an open center circuit. Not sure if that’s the same on 86’s, but I do know that both 86’s and 88’s have 4-port orbitals.
Here’s another thread that might be helpful that includes a schematic and description of how the Baraki valve is plumbed into my 88’s.
Side note: I had a bit of a nightmare scenario with the valve initially essentially due to a defect in the machining of the valve block that blocked oil flow to the autosteer valve. That said, I think that was 1 in 1,000,000, and I was very happy with the support of Baraki and the community to work through it. I’ve bought 2 valves since that fiasco from Baraki.
