Claas Axion 2017 canbus steering

Hello
Planning to replace Claas S10 Terminal with AgOpenGps. So I was wondering what do I need to have to make it work. Ofc I need canbus pcb, but what else. I want to use the original autosteer button and if possible can i get the signal from task manager that the implement is up or down to act as workswitch.

Hi Karja,

Yes AOG will work on your Axion. The teensy canbus code includes the engage button and the work trigger from cebis just like the S10, we can even trigger the headland sequence buttons.

You will need a pcb with at least 1x canbus or 2x canbus if you want to use the headland sequence buttons. The AIO v4.5 pcb only has one canbus but the AIO v2.x has 2x can I think. There is also tony canbus pcb that has 3x canbus but it doesn’t have the output for pwm2/lock valve like the AIO. We suggest you use this output to drive the safety valve on the orbitrol. You will need to make a breakout harness to connect into the canbus at the ATP module in the floor on right side of seat and this harness also bridges some power supply wires in the 16 way atp module connector. My suggested wiring for an AIO pcb is attached(note I haven’t made this harness for an aio pcb so use with care and let me know if there is any mistakes).
Once you have all the wiring connected and the teensy programed you need to use serial monitor connected to teensy and enter service mode and set the brand 0(claas) and the gps options for panda or pasthrough then change the pved parameters and commit them to the pved. Depending on the serial number of your axion and the way the s10 is connected you maynot need to change the pved parameter.

Part numbers for the atp connectors are in the diagram.

So the was singal is also in the canbus messages.

Yes it is

And AOG uses IMU, that is on Aio v4.5 pcb? Could i put the pcb where the GPS pilot is? I just need to switch the axies ?

Where did u order the connectors? and if i buy them do i need to purchase to internals like the silicone seal, locking plate and pins separately

Yes you can. Just make sure the imu is mounted with the chip facing up

The connector part numbers are the correct keying to suit the atp but they aren’t the easiest to find in small quantities. If you change the first number 2- to 1- you should find them at the usual suppliers like mouser, digikey etc but you will have to cut the keys off the male one and break the key out of the female with a small pick or screwdriver.
You will also have to get the pins and sockets to suit them, they are jpt series just don’t have part numbers to hand at the moment. Please your self if you want to get the seals that go on the wires and mating face seals. Moisture shouldn’t be a problem where they are used in the tractor.

But what wires does the GPS Pilot use that come out of the floor?

You will need to connect to the atp steering module and make a break out harness
