Hello, today arrived my electric motor and, when i was instaling the small gear on it’s shaft, a question popped up in my head: For it to not act like a brake, i need to have the pcb on all the time (i used thebcytron mod)? Cuz if it’s so, i’ll just put a cable there and forget about it.

The motor will always freewheel unless the auto steer is engaged in AOG.

It turns freely when the PCB is not powered on, its only when you haven’t done the Cytron mod or fitted a relay that there is a voltage applied to the motor when autosteer is not engaged which acts as a brake and would also feed current back to the Cytron like a generator if you manually turned the steering wheel.
