Hi. Thank you for answer. I am looking for the pcb for the module itself. I have only the module without any other components. Maybe there is a pcb project or something like that.
Hi. Thank you for answer. I am looking for the pcb for the module itself. I have only the module without any other components. Only this
I have not seen a PCB without the module.
Also it will be challenging to solder it on as a beginner. You will need to use solder paste and a hot air gun/reflow oven to solder it on.
A hot plate is probably the best method to use.
Could you tell me if UM981 with sensor fusion is compatible with agopengps?
Don’t know since I don’t have one. Right now the prices are ridiculously high.
How connect um982 to raspberry pi to build an rtk base?
In the Ortner Doc there is a guide
Attached is an EasyEDA PCB file for a carrier board to hold a Pi Zero 2 W, UM982 and power supply. I am using this and the software Tomi linked above to build my base station.
UM982_Pi_Base.zip (63.9 KB)
I just used usb to ttl and thats all.
received not tested yet… UM982 BOARD
AK372W-UM982-ENG.pdf-revHEAD.svn000.tmp.pdf (787.3 KB)
I would be real careful with that board. It is definitely is not following the Unicore reference design. It is missing most of the components that provide protection to the chip as well as properly condition the signals going into and out of the chip. It also does not appear to follow the thermal management guidelines from Unicore so it may run hotter.
Not a board I would purchase when a properly designed one is the same price or a couple of dollars more. Here is a picture of a properly designed one. Notice all the components missing from the one in the PDF.
I notice a lot of the cheaper chinese boards with the UM982 chip do not have the Unicore brand on the chip. Maybe there are counterfeit chips or reselling of rejected chips on the market?
Has anyone done experiments with the chips where instead of Unicore a number AKxxx is printed?
I work for a manufactor where we had several issues with expensive chips being counterfeit if we bought them from brokers if official suppliers couldn’t deliver in time. Those where mainly ADC’s and DAC’s, but I can imagine it is happening for this expensive chips also?
I have seen chips marked like that. Can you post a link?
The first post in this thread has a vendor that has provided me with good boards quickly.
Example: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EjQf1Fq
And I see also others where the position where unicore supposed to be stamped is empty.
The metal can on the UM982 just pops off. Use a small screw at one corner. Putting a custom one on is pretty trivial.
I wouldn’t buy one of the ones in that link. They eliminated a lot of passive components to get the price down. Those components actually do stuff like protect the UM982 I/O lines and condition the signals. The first post in this thread has the Unicore EVB manual for their reference design. You can see all the missing components and their purpose in that document. Clearly whoever made that board did not read the document or chose to disregard it.
The vendor I linked in the first post has been very reliable. Quality product at a fair price shipped quickly.
Hi, what’s the right configuration for um982 using USB instead of teensy UDP? I have configured the um982 with KSXT messages, I get roll and heading to agio using USB, but there are some jumps on rolls. It is not continuous. Do you have the right configuration?
How do you mean jumps? Can you post your current config?
