My first real tractor

I made my system for my mower in 2021. My brother-in-law wants me to help him install AOG on his 2018 JD 6130R. He says it’s steer capable, not steer ready. It has a WAS. So my main questions

  1. Would he have a hyd steer valve we could use?
  2. Would we need to talk can to it? This isn’t my native tongue, I’d rather talk C# and C++.
  3. I need a suggestion for the board to get. We’ll use a F9 for GPS.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I would say no. I think steer capable means here you have to use the ATU300 at the steering wheel. But you could check it very easy. When your hydraulic pipe looks like the pair in the front you have no valve. When it looks like the other pair you should find a valve under the exhaust mount.

The valve is “analog” not can. Take a look here: Build report/documentation John Deere 6170M That is my build report for my 6170M. The valve and the WAS are the same.
I use the Kaupoi 4.1 board. You could also use the actual all in one board V4.5.
I think it would be helpfull to read this topic also: Controlling existing Deere hydraulic autosteer valve with AOG
