Sorry if this has been asked before. Does it run ok on a RPi model 2B?

Yup!

Thank you. I’ve just got it going and it seems fine up to now.

How resistant to power cuts is it. Do random power outages upset it? My present ESP32 Xbee setup is fine in this respect.

Haven’t had any power issues of note, I’ve never had to reset it in the 6 months it’s been running. Forget it’s there, to be honest.

Cheers. It seems to be running fine. Both as an Nrtip service to RTK2Go and as a caster. I probably need to edit the F9P configuration to remove an unavailable constellation.

I’ve had mine running pushing to 4 casters simultaneously - 1 local, rtk2go, centipede and my own in Azure. All fine, and CPU hardly worried at all.

I wanted to use this software as it uses RTKlib and i can send RTCM messages that the F9P won’t on it’s own. Trying to get a Topcon AGI-3 to work with my base.

Really pleased with how easy it is to set up and use. Big thank you to @Stefal !:+1:

Great use for one of the many pi’s i have lying around!

Despite it’s hefty price tag, the Topcon X35 system is quite temperamental. It now won’t connect to any NTRIP so can’t even test this yet!

It did connect to and run on ER_Pollybell_1 on rtk2go.com (although quite a distance away) so I’ve replicated it’s messages and timings (WEBBPARTNERS2 on rtk2go) . Hopefully, when it’s cellular is sorted it will work.

Thanks for this Stefal.

Upgraded without any issues, running rock solid. Great work

I don’t know if this has been asked before, but how can I adapt the code to make it work over ethernet instead of usb?

What do you want to connect to what using Ethernet?

Connecting the Pi to the internet with Ethernet is no problem, no code adapting needed.

Hello,

I have one base up and running in raspberry pi4 and it’s running pretty warm.
What would be the best compromise between thermals and performance for reliable long time running.
We are about to setup cluster of base stations to get good coverage in our area 8-12 base stations.

We have good access to servers having public ip-address, only problem is that snipp has stopped development of caster service for Linux environment. Servers are running Linux and we would like to avoid installing windows. Is there any other caster software that is running in Linux?

Can you use RTK2go, centipede or emild for caster?

Maybe you want full control and run it for yourself?

Yes we like to run the caster in our own server.
Snipp is actually very good solution and the pricing is fairly reasonable as it is one time investment. Only downside is that we need to install windows os.

You can fork GitHub - CentipedeRTK/centipede: Centipède: un réseau collaboratif de Bases GNSS RTK low-cost ?

I usually use Orange Pi Zero. power consumption and cpu temp is lower than Pi 4.

BKG Caster is the caster used in the CentipedeRTK network. It’s not free (1000€). We hope a good FOSS Caster will be available in the future, it will be easier to fork the centipedeRTK toolchain/monitoring.

I have it running on a Pi model 2 B. Pretty constant 28°C to 30°C. Turning on a display sends it up 10°+.

I’ve dumped snip as it uses windows and all the headaches that come with it. I had an ESP32 based XBee system running but this RTKBase uses RTKLib which I really wanted for the message flexibility.

I should know later if I’ve succeed in getting my F9P base to talk to an Topcon AGI-3 / X35 system. If so, I will be absolutely ecstatic with RTKBase!! Just got to solder a new male BNC on the AGI-3 as it lost a battle with a tree.

I’ve got my rtkbase connected to a topcon x35 without problems. Messages 1005(10), 1077(1), 1087(1), 1097(1), 1107(1), 1127(1), 1230(10). I use wifi to my phone’s hotspot and using rtk2go.com

Which receiver do you have? This is an older AGI-3. Think most now use the AGI-4.

It wouldn’t hold RTK on those messages from my F9P.

ER_Pollybell_1 on rtk2go sends 1006, 1008, 1033, 1075, 1085, 1095, 1125, 1230, all at 1 second intervals. It works on that although distant. We think it connected and held RTK on mine with these messages but unfortunately he hit a tree and damaged the modem antenna connector.

I have the receiver in pieces on the dinning table at the moment! Two really nice angular rate sensors in there! CRS03-02S

Perhaps the new AGS-2 receiver?

The AGCO branded AGI-4 does not even accept MSM messages. Not much point either as the AGI-4 is only GPS + Glonass capable, legacy messages are as good as MSM.

Do you find the “7” messages a real benefit over the “5”? I thought the increased bandwidth for 7 does not pay off?

EDIT: sorry for really off topic in this thread
