The pin on the arduino is D9?

That tells you that nano works and sketch is good. Yes try shorting steer switch on PCB if that works then your switch is bad. If not see if your optoiso is solder good, small nouch is facing up and is resistor good value. [steerswitch]

And you can solder switch before resistor and other wire to ground and you will bypass opto.

It seems like i find the issue. When i connect the D6 to ground the autosteer works. So the issue is between the arduino and the steerswitch.

Also try to resolder the middle pin of the steer optocoupler, it does not have much solder, looking at your picture of backside of the PCB
