(Variable) Rate control

A C10 replacement can be found here: RVT470UF35V67RV0056 | KNSCHA | Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors - SMD | JLCPCB

You will need a rpm sensor also.

J5 is a mounting hole to connect 12V, 4.8mm. J6 is for ground.

Thanks,
And how do I fix the wrong placement of components?

Drag into position.

Great ideas on using the mobility scooter motor and being able to change back to ground drive quickly! That should be a nice robust motor.

Have you tried to see if the motor is fast enough for your purposes when powered by 12v?

It is just about fast enough running 12v. It puts out about 60 rpm’s at 12v, with a John Deere finger pick up planter, if I drove it at a 1:1 drive ratio with the meter drive shaft, that would be enough for 31,764 seeds per acre at 4.5 mph on 30" rows. I could also slightly over drive the meter shaft. Usually I am under 4 mph trying to get a perfect row unit ride.

I planned on 24v because the seller of the motor claimed it was a 400 watt motor. With a 24v power supply I could run up to 480W with the larger 20 amp Cytron motor driver I used. I found a place selling the same motor refurbished, and they claimed 200W, so I may have been fine with a 12v supply. (Also it is possible both answers are correct, 200W operating and 400W in a stall)

I believe Cytron also makes a 30 amp motor driver, so if a person wanted to keep everything 12v you could in theory run 360 watts of power, but you would need some fairly heavy wire for that much current over a long distance.

The motor likely won’t draw anywhere near the rated current, as I don’t think it will take that much to turn your metering units.
If I recall from reading the data sheet, the cytron will also limit the current draw, which is a good way to make sure an over powered motor doesn’t damage a metering unit if it’s jammed.

In my seed drill my motors have a rated current of 26 amps at 12 volts. I use a 20 amp cytron and I’ve never seen them draw much over 5 amps when metering fert at 10km/hr

Ok, I get my rc15 make box for it, flash .ino… just waiting my ethernet switch to get and i will try it. I need it mostly for spraying with 7 section arag 2way valve. But have question, i think find wire from orginal terminal wire to pcb on sprayer and make T- conection to it then use or rate app or orginal terminal. Few pics to see what i mean

Question is can i do it from T- connection in cab, or i need it wired directly on this pcb on sprayer.

I am not sure what you mean by a T connection. What are you T’ing into?

On this picture you can see wiring goes from in cab terminal to pcb on sprayer(label as ā€œSECTIONā€) Its have 7 wire for 7 section and 1 wire for main valve. Can i solder ampseal for rc15 on this wire in cab from OEM connector and left it hang when use rc15, or i must make conection to wire which goes from this pcb to valve itself.

I think connecting in the cab should work.

Hi,
I use RC on an air seeder with success. RC controls the seed flow. I would like to display the fan speed, I don’t need to control its speed because it already is.

Can RC Nano handle 2 sensor ? I already tried but failed.

It can. If you are using the ethernet shield pin 2 of the shield prevents interrupt signals on pin 2 of the nano. Put stacking headers on the nano and mount on the pcb. Remove pin 2 of the ethernet shield and mount on the nano.

In dont get the mod to be green it only stays bleu ? What can be the problem??

It is green… I dont know how i get it but its working. Now other problem. The rate control is only adjusting in one way only positive pwm when rate is above the target rate and also when rate is below the target. When i adjust bij hand (up and down arow) than positive and negative pwm. What can be wrong ?

I guess you have to set ā€œControl Type = Standardā€ in Product / Rate.

Also check values for PWM Max and PWM Min

I have set standaart control type… Where can i set max and min pwm ?

What app version? Which pcb and what firmware version? Is this for a motor or a valve?

There was set a fixed rate values. That was the problem. Now its working. But the ethernet connection is not verry reliable. What is the meaning of mod color bleu ? Red is no connection but bleu is something in between no and a good connection ?

Hi,
On a seed drill assembly, motor.
I have a problem: the encoder count on my motor isn’t accurate. It’s running very slowly and giving me a rather random rpm of 1700-3000… I’m looking for the problem; I’ve already changed my encoder wheel three times. Is the pulse time important? Should the high and low pulses be equal?

Blue means the module is sending but not receiving. Did you send the subnet setting in module config?
