Work switch how to connect

Hello,
I want to make automatic mapping of field when the hydraulics are raised or lowered.
I already found out that the work switch pin is intended for this, but I wonder what I should connect to it, GND or can I also connect voltage?
I had the idea of ​​getting the hydraulic position (raised, lowered) from pin 4 on the ISO 11786 7 pin connector that I have on the tractor. If anyone has done something similar, please help, because I would not like to complicate things that may not be necessary at all. Do i need transistor or relay or what is the easiest way to connect work switch pin to tractor?
I have PCB version 4.x.
