AB Line issues

Yes I only lost RTK signal twice within a 8hr period and it was a cellular issue nothing to do with AOG. Thanks for all the help!

Hello, each time the base station is restarted it will search for its position and it will never be exactly the same. The RTK correction will always be good but the position will be relative so depending on the use it can be important.

Only if you use servey in, best is to only let it survey in once, write down the coordinates after survey in is completed, and set these as fixed coordinates. Every time you restart the base (I do this several times) it uses the exact same base coordinates .

Perfect that is the method I have used. I don’t resurvey every time.My base was mounted on a permanent fixed position at the house then surveyed for 24 hrs. Used those numbers for fix point in the Ardusimple.

Well I’m convinced its an issue with WAS zero and the fact I’m using a 2wd tractor in very loose soil. Did another 60 acres today and had the same issue but basically going the other way now everything was steering to the opposite side of the line. I haven’t had time to re zero the WAS but i’m convinced it is part of the issue. The passes are straight but they wiggle enough to notice if you look at the individual rows close. Acts like the tractor is getting pulled around by the planter even with the diff locked I get swings of up to 4 inches either way.

I am having the same issues this fall with a different tractor and using the new V5.

Going east to west my pass is off 5inches to the right even shows this on the lightbar…turn around go west to east and its dead on zero…Ive tried everything re zero was…tried offsets with no luck. The fact its doing this in the same field as last year but with a whole different tractor has me stumped. Both WAS are the delhpi sensor one mounted to an articulate tractor on to a 2wd tractor. Starting to lose my faith that I may never get this setup right. I am located in central United States for gps positioning purposes. Using f9p WAAS but also have RTK with black puck antenna on the hood plenty of metal around it. Ago works flawless other than this issue. Drives super straight just causes implement to leave a skip going one way.

Have you checked roll. Or do you have roll?

Does it happen with RTK ?

“with black puck antenna on the hood”
When antenna is on the hood I suppose it is lower than the cabin.

So when you go east or west different satellites will be “in sight” or shadowed away by cabin, and leading to the shift in position. Especially if you have few (just over 8) satellites around.

“I am located in central United States for gps positioning purposes.”
Does that mean you really only have GPS available?)

Yes the antenna is mounted below the cab on the hood on this tractor. Last I checked I was picking up around 15 or more satellites. This same issue happened last year with our 2wd tractor which has antenna mounted atop the cab in clear view of the sky. That tractor was using rtk last year with the same issues. I am using no heading or roll at this time.

Why would it drive next to the AB line with a 6in error and never try to correct ?? Is that always a symptom of a WAS issue ?

Most of the time on the forums it has been the WAS. It thinks it is right because the WAS says its already steered there. Sounds like it may be loose linkage or something causing it to correct to one side of the line but the other side the error is not large enough to justify or over correct to get back to the line. Funny that it is only in one field in one direction. That would seem more about GPS interference. But it should correct to what it thinks the GPS is, and paint clean. With it painting to one side on the screen, that only can be that it knows where it is, but cannot steer to it. We did a few runs once with the GPS off center. Looked right on the screen, but wrong in the field. That is not your problem because it doesn’t look right on the screen. I’d say WAS, linkage, or WAS settings. Counts per degree or too high intergal. Keep us posted.

Try pp drive mode. Some see this bug in Stanley

I have been using stanley…will switch to pp mode

Is there a way to see voltage from the WAS without using a volt meter …does ag diag show this anywhere? I want to verify I have 2.5v when tractor is straight

There is no voltage reading but in the steering tuning settings window, you can see the was output at the top. Set your was center adjustment to zero and see what it shows hard left and right.

It is important to check that your was does not pass reading at max left/right. Else just adjust zero in AOG.
Did you find this video? Steer settings Tutorial

I have the delhpi sensor when zeroed if i steer all the way right then left the max steer angles are very close within 1 or 2 degrees of each other

Then you should be good to go

I suppose you use almost the whole possible range for the sensor, to get most precise reading around the center.

Thats what leads me to believe its not a WAS issue.

Can someone give me a quick explanation on Tram Lines and what they are used for. In AOG do they affect the AB line in anyway or are the strictly for visual purposes only? Mine were set on the offset position in default startup what does this mean ? Also anyone using Imperial measurements having any issues still trying to narrow down my line shift problem.
