Speaking of hydraulics, could we add dead band adjustment into 4.6? There’s a no-flow zone in the middle in any case, like this:
With the current setup unless the error is exactly zero, there’s always the minimum PWM drive moving the spool. Can happen (as did with my PVG16 setup) that the spool never has enough time to return to center to vent the LS line and pressure is constantly on.
I agree, having this windows as small is also a needs, for changing parameters while driving. Lots of constraints to takes into account.
A agree, this could be helpfull. Perhaps to implement it more easily, just keep it manual for now. Just a mode in which we switch : AOG will constantly drive the motor at minPWM value. And we manually increase minPWM (instead of an automatic increase).
An other difficulty for the automatic mode: I noticed on my installation that the the min torque (so minPWM) required for turning the steering wheel is not constant arround the steering wheel. Some angular sector require more torque than the other. I don’t now if it’s intrinsic to my tractor steering or du due to the fact that the 3D printed ring gear is probably not perfectly round (so resistiv torque on the motor not constant).
I agree, just adding the scale on y-axis would be an improvement.

Can you make a security thing :
Can you add automatic off autosteer when we are following a line, stop, and go reverse. If we miss to disengage, the steer turn far away.
I don’t know if i am clear…
Can the guidance lines generated from boundary be more permanent.
I have put a few hours in spraying with AOG and have noticed that after creating boundary contours it seems to build the guidance line as it goes. I have had issues with it trying to sending me off into the trees as it finds another guidance line to follow (mainly around corners or where the boundary is a bit complicated) a bit problematic at 20km/h with a 36m boomspray.
Wondering when the boundary guidance is created if it could be set and will only create the 1, 2, 3 etc passes that were chosen in the setup and not have it trying to find any guidance lines outside of the chosen lines.
I imagine a guidance line that looks a bit like the green uturn distance from boundary line.
As a note I do 2 complete circuits around a paddock for spraying and 3 for seeding.
Apologies if this is a feature and I have not found it yet.
I think this is a very good explanation. Should go into the quick start guide.
Maybe this also: - If tractor lurches (goes left/right), this indicates a too low gain. - If tractor is always at one/the same side of abline, this indicates a wrong setting of WAS zero. Maybe community should confirm this sentences first and add some more?
Maybe it would a good way of work to have a predefined steering routine (maybe 2° left, 12° left, back to center, some degrees right , …) and AOG gives back the sum of the oversteering and of the understeering over time. I mean the area over the time that the red line is under the green line and vice versa in the steer graph.
Very cool new thing would be, if the goal point would have a better behaviour and don’t stay in the backward of the vehicle if I drive forward:
And a very very very cool thing would be if the goal point would be in front of the tractor and also point in direction I want drive. This can be estimated depending on the WAS value. Front wheel pointing to the left, goal point in front and on the left side of the tractor:
Goal point should be searched in that direction the front wheel is pointing and not in the direction of tractor heading. This may need a threshold: Heading of tractor and heading of ab line have to differ more then 10 degrees, maybe. Or we are not in something like a “line holding mode”.
Yes, youre right. My issue is, that the outside round is sometimes not the first round or the outside round is not finished in one run. Our filds are rather small. There is much rush start, pause, start at every edge. Thinking of forage harvester.
