Connect as shown in the diagram, e.g. with relay connectors, polarity is important, the side marked with a white stripe must be connected to +12V which comes from the relay to coils 3/2, the other end of the diode connect to GND.

I did some testing on one mega 8400 today and ended up with the settings:

Min 26
Not perfect yet, but good start

Too low minimum PWM.
It will always be between 36 and 40
