SMD PCB Project for an all-in-one compact PCB for AOG/QOG

that conditions seems to be new! So, wait, I’ll remove at least one milling, between the two USB parts. You can easily cut them with a side cutter

Done. I suppose they will charge two now, but at least not 3…

It is also possible to generate a “cut-yourself-version” by removing the millings, but maybe that’s to much hardcore…

In the Connections.pdf you suggest SAIL-M12G-5-1.5U as a power and steering cable. This is 0,34 mm2. Must be inadequate for the 10A or so the steering motor can deliver? I thought at least 1,5 mm2 was needed and 2,5 mm2 is preferred.
Do these exist, M12 connectors that accept 4x or 5x1,5 mm2? Can’t find any.
Edit: they do exist, however not in the ‘A’ format?

You’re right, M12A is made for a nominal constant current of 4A. 4A is a lot! In real life, you will only exceed that current when the motor works against you, and in that case, the autosteering should be terminated automatically in my opinion. That’s why you have a current signal on A7. Will add some lines of code for automatic disengaging.

On the other hand, M12 is very robust. Short motor stall should be no problem and a fuse should be used anyway.

I think there was a discussion before that the steering wheel motor stalls a considerable part of the time while functioning normally because it constantly has to adjust around a center point, turning back and forth, braking and stalling. That phidgets motor is warm to the touch when I use it. I wouldn’t use anything less than 1,5 mm2… In the spec sheets those M12A go up to max. 0,75 mm2.

@GoRoNb I am finally getting order canceled, and reordered with Q8. I used the files that were updated. I am having trouble with pick and place working. It gives me a message of wrong format. I spent a while chatting to get it resolved. They couldn’t tell me why it wouldn’t accept.

Is it ok to use old pick and place, or what should I do? Thanks

Didn’t find any error, so I took old files and did all the corrections of the meantime again. Seems to work now… What an unnecessary waste of time - they should at least raise, what’s wrong!

Yes. 2nd guy I chatted with wasn’t nearly as helpful. Do I need to use new pick and place? Ordered with old one. New BOM.

Regretting reordering, just got another email.Screenshot_20210218-023022

I don’t think that is right, is it?

lol, used the standard output of their EasyEDA… Now, I manually deleted the doc layer, which is unnecessary for producing.

Please give it another try and let us know…

fyi: Here is an online Gerber viewer. It seems to me as if it is the same company, but a different webpage (but the viewer is working)

Went smooth after using your new files. The BOM wasn’t as smooth. Had to go back to old BOM on 2-3 items to get old part#. This one
xu14
is strange. It doesn’t appear on page before checkout to search for part. I’ve been back and forth 3x. The first page says 43 parts selected. The checkout page says 42 parts selected. Not sure what is goin on with that. Looks like another JLCPC glitch.

That’s intended, see SMD PCB Project for an all-in-one compact PCB for AOG/QOG - #120 by GoRoNb. So if you would like to use a valve, delete the “x” before uploading. Should be mentioned in the file, too

Ok Sorry. I didn’t notice that last time. Does 42 components Sound right?

Yes, 42 is what I get as well.

These are unfitted:

grafik

U18, U2: not in stock :grimacing:

D5, D6, D7: same, but no prob

U11: not available from LCSC

xU14, so no 6/2 valve

rest are connectors they don’t assemble

Yes Thank you! extremely helpful. Lead time is tolerable. The box from Aliexpress is about 8wks out for me. :disappointed: That would be Middle of planting season. I found a few boxes that are a bit bigger. Unfortunately will have to be cut shorter for round connectors to work. Also a little wider so pcb will not fit in grooves. Amazon Box I will post if I find something better in the States.

here is a short video of the first smoke test today

fyi: I found a bug in USB-C (two resistors 5.1k are missing; fortunately easy to add) and Q7 needs to be turned:

20210221_225714 20210221_225935

It only affects USB-C. USB via CN2 works w/o workaround.

Github is already updated

Can be used this PCB with section control? Is there this opinion?
