I use a 12v to 5v converter to power my relay board as its too much for the tablet to run so you’ll be ok doing that and just use the nano as the input trigger.
You could possibly just use a 12v relay board to start with and not bother with the 5v converter
Thanks again for your help.
Tried powering it this evening using another usb.
But i was joined into the usb cable, this didn’t work as my tablet needs to send power to be able to see the usb device!
Will try powering the board only!
Think at this stage i need to think about another tablet or ethernet!
Having only one usb port on my tablet means I will have to use something like this.
Would this work ok, aiming to plug the rtk2b into the usb port and my machine board (and everything that comes after) into the Ethernet?
Then this to run the nano? Using 5v from one of the usb ports to power the board?
I got a usb splitter like that running gps, imu and machine module (1 relay) with no issues
Ok looks like a plan then.
Think i will look for one with more ethernet ports and maybe one usb port.
Would keep it open for future projects.
I think that the reason of this problem is a week quality of tablet. I using Something like that (Panasonic FZ-G1): AgOpenGPS Tablet Panasonic FZ-G1 8GB 256 SSD +LAN do nawigacji rolniczej - Sklep KOMPIX
I’m having the same problem- did you go to upd after?
Yes, I had it running on UDP, but not fully completed yet! Seems much more stable.
Sure a splitter like that will work. Maybe your problem is how you power your things. Before UDP Brian told to make sure ALL GND was at same spot, meaning: do not power tablet from cigarette lighter plug and PCB direct from battery, because that would mean you have 2 different GND making a little current run through usb connection and thereby ruining the connection.
Did you convert the fp9 to Ethernet as well? Or how did you do this?
Hi sorry for late reply, I haven’t had a chance to get into this project again until now!
I decided that i want to simplify my complete setup
By going to ethernet.
Running the usbs on it’s own power source was not an option with my tablet as it then didn’t recognise there was anything connected.
I haven’t been able to do this yet. I can’t find any info on how to do it either, if anyone has any advice or knowledge on using the f9p with ethernet it would be much appreciated.
one of teh solution is to use USR module

you can combine both serial information
